That's too bad you didn't see more, they were all over where we were. I shot at two bucks running early and missed...yeah, yeah...I'm out of practice. My dad and I dropped two young bucks within yards of each other, and within minutes. He shot his, we walked to camp (about 50 yards away!) and got the ATV, I walked back out of the woods ahead of him, and there was another, so I shot it. We were done in 10 min of each other. We drove to Floodwood for lunch, came back, and there was another small buck and a doe in the same field. My Dad got out his gun, but just turned around and smiled at me and walked back and put his gun away. We had a bonus tag to fill, but he decided it was too easy and we already had enough meat. It was great. We were on the road by 3pm Saturday back home. I wish it went longer for the sake of hunting longer, but it was nice to finish early for once. Good luck to you, there is still time.
We saw a TON of deer in the fields in the evenings. I would stake out a good hay or clover field and wait for them to come out.

i went up past milaca 3-4 times last week, sat in the tree n didnt see anything. i took a couple pops at a few small ones, that was it. i saw a really nice buck with a huge rack on my way to work in little canada just mosying through a large parking lot real slow, i was thinking real hard about whether or not the local sheriff would hear me fire a few slugs or a few pops of the 30/30....always could have pushed it over with the truck, i followed it for about a minute, but the one i saw i had to let get away.
