Question about propane injection and towing

From Quadzilla: "If you decide to install a system, let me know, and I can walk you through the initial "dial in" procedures."

I have driven ford diesel trucks since 1983 and made many modifications on them. I have never used a propane injection yet. Due to my business, I tow RV's very long distances. I have a 4" exhaust, cold air intake system (K&N), Superchip Trimode Tuner and a full gauge system on a 1996 F250 4x4. My mileage is only 12 mpg towing and 15-18 mpg empty (automatic, 3:55 gears). I have access to a complete used Bully Dog system for a 7.3 PS. Would this be a good addition to my towing package?

I don't have any personal experience with a Bully Dog system, but the general concept of propane injection has some common ground. With propane on while towing, you'll find that you've got more power for pulling hills, and you'll get better mpg from the #2 diesel you're burning.
To set up your system, initially get it adjusted to your truck when you're not towing. You'll probably want the propane to start flowing at around 4psi boost. (Ideally, you want the propane to start flowing at 1psi higher than you typically run at freeway speeds.) You'll also want to adjust the amount of flow so you can't make the truck detonate at that setting. Once you've found the correct adjustments for those two parameters, to adjust it for towing, you'd want to set the propane to come on at about 7-10psi boost, or 1-2psi higher than you run on the freeway while towing.
I hope this gets you started. If you have any other questions, post them here, and I'll check back periodically.
