Thumbs up 8" Bazooka Bass tube

I installed an 8" Bazooka tube behind the rear seat in my Crew Cab and the thing really sounds pretty good. I had to remove the plastic tray on the floor back there. Maybe I'll shorten it and reintall. I already replaced the stock speakers with Kenwood 2 ways.

It just barely fits, and as a side benefit, when you pull the latch for the seat it pops forward a 1/4 inch on it's own. That's handy if you want to tilt it forward and have something in your hand.

For those looking for some cheap bass, it's hard to beat.

Eric

The guy that came up with the Bazooka is from not far from me. I remember he used to always go into a friends radio shop with some new invintion that did not work worth crap. When he first walked in with the Bazooka I was there and he almost got thrown out of the shop for wasting the owners time so much. But he convinced him to hook the tube up and WOW it worked pretty well. Point is I guess never give up! I have used some of the Bazookas over the years and they all have been pretty good.

Two 8" bazookas behind the seat in my CC. The amp in one is designed to handle two speakers. Get the RS series as there is a noticable difference. People are always surprised when I tell them I have two 8's providing the bass!

I laid them down. I removed the storage tray and placed them back to back. They fire out toward the rear doors. I originally wanted 1 or 2 bazooka 10's, but they would not fit. I did not want a custom box and amp, so I went this route. Best bang for your buck in my opinion.

Talking Removed bazooka 8" tube, replaced with custom box 2x 10" Diamond Audio Ti.

Hi All,
First post 4 me. I am a basshead and I went out and bought a Bazooka 8" amplified tube. Used it for 3 weeks and had to have more bass. I custom made 6 brackets to raise the rear seat 5" and had a custom box built to hold 2 Diamond Audio 10" Titanium Dual 4ohm vc's. I'm running about 1K watts to them and pounding hard.
I have the CS8A5 in storage if anybody is interested email me

I've ordered my 05 6.0 CC a couple of weeks ago, and I know already I want to replace the speakers. Can anyone tell me what size speakers and how many? Crutchfield is telling me i can have 5.25's, 5x7's, or 6x8's. Is this right? Also what type of speakers are you guys running, How do you like them? Final question... How did you guys hook up the bazooka to the stock head unit, if you did?

Thanks,
-Kevin

ktplotts, Tim

I have polk audio 5x7 in the front and rear and would say after installing that there is plenty of room for larger speakers. I bet 6x9 would fit with a little, if any, cutting and customizing. Probley will order a pair of 6x9's for the rear and replace those first. Then compare with the front doors. I also have (2) 8" BT in the rear of my truck. I used the amplified models.

Curious if anyone has done a comparasion on the quality of bass using the stock amp vs a higher end amp on the non amp version.

PS TIM. Not sure what context the term BT was used, looked back at this forum but was unable to find it, but I am using to reference Bazooka tube (Base Tubes). Hope that helps.
