Bazooka tube is a subwoofer with the amp, woofer and box all in a tube. Basically it looks like a short and fat bazooka.

I've ordered my 05 6.0 CC a couple of weeks ago, and I know already I want to replace the speakers. Can anyone tell me what size speakers and how many? Crutchfield is telling me i can have 5.25's, 5x7's, or 6x8's. Is this right? Also what type of speakers are you guys running, How do you like them?

I replaced my entire sound system in my 04 CC.
put in an JVC CD/MP3 head unit went with Orion 6x8's in all 4 corners these are 3ohm speakers so the are a little more effiecent sound great screaming load and crystal clear it was either them or Memphis audios 6 1/2' component at 450.00 a set.
I have 1 5 channel amp running everything Memphi Belle 4x115 and 1100x's1 with two hx2 RF's in a box that takes up half the rear cab.
I have looked and looked and looked for boxes for this truck and nobody builds one that is worth a damn 2 eights or two twelves both boxes are really small which means no high power subs and with 1100 watts of true clean no swap meet crap power anything less than 400 watts rms rated subs wont be lasting long.
small boxes = small power.

How did you build the riser for the rear seat probly the only way to get the subs I want in this truck.

How did you guys hook up the bazooka to the stock head unit, if you did?

i hoked mine to the factory rear speaker wires. all you need is a left and right rear speaker + & - . 1 constant hot wire 1 ingtion hot wire ,and a ground. my bazooka has a censor that turns it self on & off when music to the rear speaker is on. also get the RS models they have better componets.

So the 8 inch powered tube will fit behind the seat on my 02 cc and all I have to do is remove the plastic trays? No modifications to the rear of the seat?

I'm pretty sure with an 02 you have plenty of room for 12's if wanted. I have 2 RF HE'2 12's behind the seat in my 02 CC and it hits like a sledgehammer. I moved my seat up 1" to gain a little room.

I have heard of custom boxes I can use but I am not willing to move my seat at all. My truck is used for about 6 road trips a year at least 500 miles each way and everyone in the truck is 6 ft or over and I don't want to compromise on leg room. If I go with a custom box that can handle subs with only a 5.5 inch mounting depth am I going to get enough extra bass to make it worth the cost??

You could build a box for 10's or 12's and not move the seat. You could use some of the room under the seat too. I don't need that much bass (anymore) and I really like the storage back there.

CV: Yes it will fit. In 04 it might be a problem with the different rear seat.

This weekend I sectioned the plastic tray and glued it back together. Used 2 of the original 3 mounting holes. It's nice to keep small items from rolling around back there. I put my BT on the passenger side almost touching the jack.

You won't miss 1" of space, or I should say I don't. My 2 12's really pound for the amount of space. ALOT more bass than I'll ever need. You will be surprised! My 2 cents...

stealth1,

you raised your rear seat, and have the subs firing??? up, or down?

any idea how many cu ' the box is that houses these?

does anyone have a supercab here? lol
my seat is different, and thus not as much room....... not sure if it is closer to the floor or not, but i do not see being able to put more than a 4" tall box, and with 3/4" mdf, that leaves 2.0" of airspace......... not bueno. i could see if i raised my rear seat 5" like was stated aerlier, but how would someone sit in the rear seat, you would need to cut a hole in the roof........... then they end up with bugs on their foreheads...... it would however keep the inlaws from riding in my truck!!!!
well, it's too tall for em to get in it anymore anyway....

I moved the seat out 1" not up. The subs fire towards the front of the truck. I can take measurments if you need. I don't know the cu of the box.
