I have read that the c8ve and the c9ve are the same in respect to combustion chamber size, port size and valve size. I have 2 sets of c9ve and 2 sets of d0ve heads. I had the c9ve checked at the machine shop for combustion chamber size and thay are 72cc. The d0ve are 75cc or 76cc it is according witch book you read and believe.
If the c8ve is like my 2 types they also have screw in studs that can more easly be changed to an ajustable valve train.
Your question about how good are these heads, my opinion is they make great street performance heads with exhaust porting and bigger valves (not alwys nessary, depending on appl.) and are the only way to go if you race in a class that require factory heads such as I do.

Just my opinion.
