I have a flowmaster 40 series muffler on my 93 ranger and its loud but I want it to be more aggressive. I heard you could drill small holes in your exhaust tip to make it louder, if this is true can someone explain how.
If anything, drilling holes near the tip is going to quiet the exhaust, not make it louder or more agressive. Try a side exit exhaust or some tubular headers if you want a more agressive sound.
Also, doing things like removing the air sliencer will give the engine a more agressive tone.
You could run the exhaust outlet inside the truck cab and that would make it very loud, and only you would have to listen to it. (keep the window cracked so you can breath)...

If you haven't already, try doing an intake modification. It helped mine out quite a bit. My boss can hear me a few blocks away and calls it a "distinctive rumble".
First of all I have the 3.0L V6 but besides that I was just asking a question I didnt need all of somepeoples sarcasim, thankyou for the people that helped I will try the Intake I just have to find a different air intake hose and an adapter.
I've Had Friends Drill Holes In The Exhaust To Make It Sound Better..it Didnt Help Much Fer The Sound...it Did Help The Rust Destroy The Exhaust Quicker..
my flowmaster is pretty quiet too, but thats because it has 5 cats before it. The only thing that drilling holes in a muffler does is make you fail smog. And i have an intake too and it doesn't make the exaust louder, it makes noise of it's own.
