White Letter tires or not?

I liked white letters in high school and college. Since I have not.

The new truck came with white letters. I was going to turn then inside, though I have not had the time, and, they have kind of grown on mine. Pain to keep 'white' though.

So, which do you like and why? Which came with your new truck?

Got the white letters on my 04 4x4 Screw Lariat. They have grown on me as well. If it weren't for the brake dust issue, I would like them more. If you don't clean off the brake dust for a week or two, your white letters will be gone anyway or at least until you replace your pads with something better.

I am a white letter fan. I like the look of them while rolling down the road. As far as keeping them clean, westley's bleach white is super! A bristle brush and some westley's about once a month and they stay very white. All winter long I dont wash the truck (about 4 months) and in the spring a couple soakings of cleaner and they are good as new.

The very next day I had my new truck, I went to the local tire place and had my whites turned around. I just don't like the way it looks.

I don't like white letters. Way to old school for me.

I love the white letters on BFGoodrich (they are solid white letters) I don't like the ones with the letters outlined in white like the goodyears.

I swapped the original tires for BFG's before the truck left the lot. Unfortunately I forgot to ask them to mount the tires with the white letters in. If you check out my gallery you will notice that my truck is dirty more than it's clean and the white letters are surely not white most of the time.

I'd get them turned around but they work well, with excellent balance, and I don't want to take a chance on messing up something that works.

I always notice white letters on the inside. I think that looks worse than white letters on the outside. Kinda backwards in my opinion...although most wont notice. On 4x4's its even more noticable. Guess if you get them real dirty nobody can notice. But I usually clean both sides of my tires when detailing my truck to keep harmful road stuff off them. The inner sidewalls are just as important to take care of as the outsides are.

If you gonna go black sidewalls...get a tire that has no white letters at all.

Depends on the color of the truck. If it is a bright color, like Red, then you can go either way. With a dark color, it just seems best to me with white letters out.

I'd really like to be running Toyo M55 blackwall tires as I did on my 2002 F-150 (just added a picture to my gallery). Only one catch. They don't make them in 17" yet.

I really hope the tire companies will start catching on soon to the fact that virtually all trucks have switched to 17" wheels. Only with great consideration did I lease an F-150 this time because of the limited tires available. I was very close to going with a Super Duty so that I could get the tires I wanted.
A 4x4 is only as good as the rubber you can put on it.
