Right on thanks rapid Russ, do you know how to distinguish Shelby gt heads from std ones?
Not Russ but....Date codes can help.... but normally the GT heads used the 14 bolt ex pattern as stock. The 16 bolt pattern just covers all applications.

I have a set of c7ae-a with 16 bolt exhaust are they just stockers or are they gt?
As i identified them for you in your other post you have 390GT heads.
If you want 400 horsepower with these heads it is very achievable with a decent cam, intake, carb, and exhaust combination.
the date code will not identify if they were shelby heads or not. unfortunately there is no way to tell as the cylinder had castings were common.
again if you have any other questions i have the master FE parts books from Ford.
( when Ford was digitalizing all of its information library in the early 90's i had family involved as Ford employees who saved these catalogs and books from the shredder with permissions)
