My driver's side door on Teal Green '94 Ranger is badly oxidized. Surprisingly, that seems to be the only place on the whole truck that has problems, even though it's ten years old and hasn't reallly been taken care of.
It's a really chalky white color over top of the teal, with swirls added in!
Last weekend, I tried claying followed by Turtle Wax Polishing Compound, and then Meguiar's Carnauba. Looked good until the next time the sun came out, when I realized that it hadn't improved a bit...back to chalky, swirly mess. BTW, I don't have a Porter, it was all done by hand. Should I try again? Keep trying until it works? Apply a glaze/sealer?
Next question...can I remove my oxidized plastic trim around the front grille and repaint it. Do I have to sand it first?
