Forged piston and cast piston weight diff

I should tell you that I weighed them with the wrist pins and rings.

Doesn't matter, just as long as you weighed each the same way. Might be able to swap out the pins between the sets to get them to weigh closer to the same. Weigh a few pins from each to see if they're different.

With my flat-top forged TRW's in my 390 (L2291F?), I actually had the connecting rod bushings honed to match the wrist pins (OK, so my machinist uses an aircraft part manufacturer to do his precision honing

And, there was some difference...

Above all else, I wouldn't use used wrist pins unless they were pristine and I HAD to. Especially with mixed manufacturers.

The wrist pins look very good that came with these used forged pistons. I removed the rods from the pistons myself and inspected each wrist pin and rod bushing before and after disassembly. They both seemed to be in almost perfect condition and had no play. I even measured the pins with a micrometer and can't find any variances in them anywhere.

I'll weigh the wrist pins from each set of pistons and post what I find.
