Sluggish Mid-Range Acceleration

My '04 STX w/4.6L seems to have a characteristic trait that goes like this ; after about an hour of highway driving,(read-good & warm) and while cruising at about 60 mph, the zip just ain't there when I push on the pedal for more forward thrust. It feels like I'm moving against a strong headwind. I don't notice this at all when first starting out. The truck will move, but not like she does when not hot. Is this because of the puny 4.6? Does anyone else notice this? thanks

No, it'd not from the puny 4.6 I have a 04 xlt supercrew with the 4.6. It does have a lot of power at highway speeds past 65mph. Something is diffenetly wrong with your engine if it doesn't have guts after 60. I's take it in and take addvantage of the 3 year warrenty! goodluck! ~Matt
