Front Mount Hitch and Moped?

Front Mount Hitch and Moped?
I am considering adding a front mount hitch
to my 02 F-350 in order to "tote" a small
moped or motorcycle. Anyone have experience
with this kind of setup? I know I have to find
a 2 wheeler that will not obstruct the headlights
etc... Also want a front brush guard if possible.
1- anyone have a preference based on experience
with a front mount hitch?
2-any recommendations on a lightweight moped
or cycle?
**I have a 10.6 camper in the bed so I do not
want to pull or add hitch to rear.
Looking forward to all feedback! Tks, Z.
ps- I love this Ford site! I bought my F350 and camper
last summer and drove from Seattle to Prudhoe Bay AK
and back. 8135 miles! I NEVER would have been able to
put my rig together without the knowlege and support
I gathered on these pages! If I had followed the recommendations
of the Truck "dealers" I would have ended up with an 11foot
camper on a Ford Ranger haha! LOVE MY DUALLY!

ZTruck, glad you got off to a good start and are enjoying your new truck and camper!
I have a slide-in camper on my F350 too and put a front hitch on it to use my home-built motorcycle/cargo carrier. I also have a trailer I pull for the dirtbikes and ATC's and other camping stuff when I go on motorcycle riding trips.
The front hitch is made by DrawTite and I got it online at www.etrailer.com. It's rated for 500 lbs hitch weight and 9000 lbs line-pull (for use with a winch). So far the heaviest thing I've hauled on it is a small dirtbike but my over-built carrier is rather heavy so it should do fine with a moped I would think.
I don't know anything about mopeds, sorry. The little Honda 50 dirtbikes are cool to fool around on though .

No actually the bike was a YZ80. The Honda 50 is smaller than the YZ though. I had no overheating problems. I traveled in the day so I didn't really examine the headlight situation. The 80 has small tires. 50's tires are even smaller and the bikes are not as long as this one either. The hitch reciever is below the bumper and my carrier has no rise above the hitch level so there's a bit of distance between the carrier platform and the headlights. I think the headlights would be ok but the marker lights may get blocked some. I'm pretty sure a full-size adult bike would block the headlights though.
My F350 is a '92, older body than your truck, so I'm not sure how the headlight issue would be on yours. I guess if the headlights end up being blocked, you could add a pair of snow plow headlights to the front of the truck. Those would probably clear most anything you would put on a front carrier.
