If You Had To Choose?

From what I read in here, there are a lot of very "truck savy" people; so here is a question for all of you.

Hypotheticaly
If you were having bad luck with your new 04 Ford F-150 4x4 and were considering a new truck what would be your alternate choice?

New Dodge Ram 1500 4x4

New Chevy or GMC 1500 Z71 4x4

New Toyota Tundra 4x4

New Nissan Titan 4x4

OR would you give a "05" F-150 4x4 a shot

Realy would apreciate your feedback

I would buy the F150 again. I get great dealer service, loaners when I need and my experience with Chevy and Dodge was far worse than anything I've ever had with a Ford.

PS I run a small company that has 11 trucks 9 Ford 1 Dodge 1 Chevy.
I get rid of them when they are worn out.

I would take a look at GMC. A little better looking front end design than the Chevy. my Uncle had a few with no real problems. A guy at work here has a Chevy 1500 Scab with 100k miles and no real problems either...

I don't care for the import full-size trucks.

I owned a 2003 GMC Z71, that I traded in for my Lariat Screw. It actually had more features. No problems after 33k, I just had to have the new Ford. I wish I had kept it sice I am having vibration issues with my Ford.

Your right the Chevy front ends are hidious.

There's a flaw in the new F-150 design. Get the Toyota and keep it for 300,000 miles.

Hmmm, was bimmer in the list..

thanx for the replies so far.

now Jake01 as for the flaw which flaw are you talking about.?

When I first went looking for a new truck i realy liked the ford right off the line. Loved the way it drove and realy liked the interior.

I had a 2002 Chevy Silverado Z71 4x4 butthe piston slap was just too much to deal with.
I know they (GM) have addressed that piston slap issue and the late 04's and 05's have the new pistons so thats not an issue any more.

I heard the toyotas have a piston slap or engine knocking issue in colder weather, but im not sure.

I would like to hear all the feedback I can get.

Thanx

whats not to like

need to know what the problem is in order to get some input, but the first thing to do is give the dealer a chance to fix, if not remind him that it's not a far leap to another brand, now as far as the viberation issue try changing you tires to a different brand/type before taking a beating on a trade, it's funny the only thing to be different on a 4x4 would be the type of tires, to me that's why some have the problem and some don't, if this isn't the problem i'm sure you could resale for most of your money back. i repeat do not REPLACE W/THE SAME TYPE FORM THE SAME MANUFACTURER/ not trying to adverstise for a certain brand but big o or big 10 in the south warranties the ride, road hazard etc. for the legal tread life so how could you go wrong giving this a try, if this doesn't do it i would like to know because then it would become a quailtly isssue from ford, and ford does not want bad builds period.

EVERY Truck has it's own set of problems!

No matter who the maker they all have certain lemons regardless.

The only truck I would buy now if I had to would be the 2005 F250 SCrew 4x4!!!!

If I had to choose it would be a new 2005 F150 or if the problem was horrible and I was unsure about Ford I would go with the GMC. I don't want a truck built on hype and soccer moms like the imports and every time I get in a Dodge it seems like I end up walking somewhere. I just can't understand them Dodges. I think Chevy is cheap but the GMC looks good. They have always held together fairly decent but still had their problems.

I'd see what I could do to fix the issues with my truck before going out and buying a new one considering the one you'd trade in was only a year or so old.

I've dealt with the top three when it comes to get a vehicle fixed and Ford is a million miles ahead of the other two when it comes to service.

Sold my 2004 F150 4x4 Lariat for $2200.00 more than what I owed and bought the new 2005 Toyota tacoma double cab 4x4 with the TRD off road package for 28,577.00 plus TTL. Drove it home from where I bought it in Louisiana to Texas, LOVE IT. 245 HP V-6 and it will get it down the road plus I do not have the annoying shimmy, nibble, or what ever else Ford kept telling me it was that I just had to live with it until Ford engineers figured out a fix, BS. They had a year or more to get a fix for it, like they didnt know something was wrong, maybe not all the 150's but there are several out there, mine was just one of them. Any way good luck with yaws F-150's. Later cuttr.

I'm going to pursue the Lemon Law. Too bad it came to this, but enough is enough. I'll to with the GMC which I started with before going to Ford again. They really messed up on this one.
