power steering box from bronco?

Hi, today I stumbled across a 1979 bronco with the power steering box still attached at the local pick a part.
Anyone know if this is the same box as the 78-79 f-150 4x4 box to do the power steering conversion? It was mounted to the outside of the frame and i recall had 3 large bolts attaching it.

The price is whatever pick and pull gets, I think a steering box is $25
I am going to go back today and get it for my core.
To bad the complete front axle is gone, would have been a nice easy disk brake conversion.
Thanks.

I did that exact conversion on my 69 F100 4x4. I was lucky, and came accross a whole donor Bronco(1979) for 500 bucks. I also ended up with it's version of the NP435 4 speed trans, and 2 speed transfer case, took it's front end for the disc brakes(proportioning valve, master cylinder, etc) the intermittent windshield wiper switch and delay box, and the tilt steering column. All the way around, it made for a very nice truck to drive afterwards.

Hey "RR4E" I have a 67 F-100 4X4 and would like to do the same conversion on my truck. I have a 79 Bronco P/S gearbox, but not sure of what all i need to do to get it to work. How did you get it to fit without it hitting the radiator support? Also, the 79 box that I have is reverse rotation from my stock manual box. Did you have it reworked to turn a different way? Also what other parts did you use, and where did they come from. Any advise at all will be appreciated very very much.

ps info/buyer beware

Just replaced today the ps box on my '72 4 wheeler. I had bought the ps kit from the guy in Iowa, and I suspect he sent me used parts with a new paint job. The ps pump sounded like it was full of gravel, and the box developed a leak after 1 month, and had so much play in it, I had to tighten it up til it wouldnt return to center. He reimbursed me for the pump, but now I got to write him about the box. Anyhow a rebuild box was 170, with a $50 core. The box is the 2 wheel drive '77 ford truck. (3 bolt). If someone wants the complete set of instructions on how to do this project e mail me and I will send them.
