Leaf Spring Front Upper Bushing 1950 F3

Any hints on removing the bushing? I have my kit and the springs and will be starting in the next couple of days.

Hammer a screwdriver or small chisel under it (between it and the bracket), and collapse it in on itself. Then you can knock it out with a punch or chisel, etc.

OK so it is like the bushings in the the spindles for the king pins. Hopefully I can get my air chisel in there and knock it out. I haven't surveyed for room yet. I can't wait until I get his done I want to see how the front end sits with the reversed eye springs and 5 leaves instead of eight.

I'm not sure if the F3 is the same as a F1. The F1 has two bushings in each bracket, one pressed in from each side and the space inbetween is for the grease to collect. I just knocked them out with a steel rod from the outside. The bushings are quite thick walled and I don't think you can collapse them. I needed to hone the new bushings to fit the new shackle bolts. ...Terry

Well I replaced mine today and they were stuck very stuck. They are to soft and just kept making a mess when I beat on them. Well I pulled out my sawsall and a metal blade and cut a slit in the bushings. This must have released the pressure and the bushings pushed out with my finger.

Christopher2, where did you get your bushing kits? I have a 1959 F250 that needs the same bushings. Can you help? Thanks, Lloyd
