I'am interested in doing the 10k mod on my 97 diesel, is this possible on my truck. Or is this for newer trucks only?? I understand it doesn't raise egt temps to a dangerous level. Anyone who has done this to a 97, I'am looking for some more power at take off. Already installed 6637 filter, and 4 inch exhaust. Thanks Jeff

 

Absolutely you can do it to a 97. I have one on my 96. Go for it.

U still need to watch the EGT my would go in to red when towing with 10 k mod and the SCMT in tow safe And right to the red with SCMT only.

 

put it on a toggle switch because you lose hp and torque at high rpms but gain torque off start

 

Can you describe how you ran wires to toggle inside cab. A schematic would be nice, I understand all you have to do is break/make with toggle, so all you have to do is run two wires from resister back to the switch. Thanks for your help! I really have noticed the improvement off the line, which is what I was looking for. It seemed like you had to really push down on the accelerator before. Jeff
