nick names for van
my kids and i have a habit of giving our fleet of vehicles over the years nick names. like the current aerostar van "the green bean" cause its all dark green. i had a beat up plym belvadere called "shirley" derived from "surely it'll get there" ( there were doubters )...well, i was just thinking you guys may have done the same, any one got a cool nick name for their van or vehicle?
just a thought, rick

I have a 76 f 250 super cab.we pulled a tired 390 & installed low mileage 77 linclon 460. I named him big mack cause it takes about 40 acres to turn him around. the first task for him was getting a load of fire wood. I put 4 x 8 plywood around my 16 foot car trailer and loaded 4 3/4 cords of wood ( trailer & truck ). even I was supprised at how easy Big Mack performed. it was a 160 mile round trip. I have owned Ford trucks since my first one in 1967. my daily driver is a 94 lightning That I bought new. i am also rebuilding a 65 Galaxie that my kids said was the uglyiest car they have seen so I named it Ugly Duckling.

I simply call my 95 AWD "the mistress" - it gets me through 1500 miles weekly
doing courier work, then invariably some problem will crop up around Friday and
so on Saturday instead of spending time (and $$$) with the wife, "the mistress"
demands her own special attention from me. I get even by refusing to give her
a bath...8^)

All,
Yah, we have names for "the fleet" as well... When we bought our first Aerostar, a white '93, it had the nickname "Moby" (get it? Moby Dick? The White Whale?). After four years we bought another Aerostar, a tan '97, so they just became "MomVan" (she got the new one) and "DadVan" (I got the old one). When we gave away the '93, the tan '97 turned into "TanVan", now finally known as "A-Star". My '03 E350 has become the new "DadVan" (and why I use that as my LOGON...). BTW, my wife's '00 Mazda Protege is named "PJ" and the '81 Ford Fairmont is fondly referred to as "the P.O.S." (the pile of steel, what did you think I meant?!?).

we call ours "Smurfy" cuz its painted entirely electric metalic blue. no trim, no accent color on the ruinning boards. ALL BLUE!
I almost didnt buy the van strictly because it was so blue. its more blue than the law should allow in one place, on one vehicle.
we called our silver aero sterling.

Mexi-Mini-Van
Mine is the Mexi-mini-van. This is because it has some gaudy pinstriping of every shade of blue you could get, over a well-oxidized dark blue body, with wide chrome wheels. It also has a broken right wing window and I have been starting it by jumping the solenoid with a screwdriver. Seats are gone. The only thing missing is splattered household paint on the carpet.
