Mileage 04 SuperCrew Lariat 5.4 3.73 LS

04 SuperCrew Lariat 5.4 3.73 LS

My mileage at the most on highway, normal highway speeds has been 12.2. I have around 2300 miles so far.

Will it get any better than this?

unless its flat ground we get crappy gas mileage.

raven. try putting your stock airbox back in, your airfilter might be messing up the airflow sensors; thats the only thing i could think of.

dave mine only got up to around 15-17 or so. and thats driving slooow.

Was 87 or 89 recommended? I cannot remember... Guess I need to pull manual. I didnt think I would get Honda mileage, but cannot figure out how my dad is getting better mileage with his 4x4. Nearly everyone is getting better mileage than I am!

After we lemoned our last car, I would be afraid for something to go wrong and not have it covered under warranty....

04 Screw 5.4L 3.73LS Lariat and have been getting 16.2 mpg all around avg. This is completey stock with the exception of a bed cover and the PCM has never been flashed. I'm planning to go with a SuperTuner when I get 10,000 miles.

04 Supercrew 4x4 5.4 With 3.55 Gears. At 3600 Miles With No Mods I Was Getting 14.08 Mpg And That Is All City Driving. I Installed A Leveling Kit And 33x12.50 And My Last Mileage Check Was 13.58 Mpg. I Buy The Cheapest Gas I Can Find. In Any Vehicle I Have Ever Owned I Have Never Seen Any Difference In Cheap Gas Or Higher Octane.
Sure I Wish It Was Better But I Don't Have To Drive It For Commuting Just For Fun, So You Know What They Say,"wanna Play Ya Gotta Pay". I Just Wish I Didn't Have To Pay So Much.

Again, I am not complaining about not getting great gas mileage, just trying to figure out why mine would be so much less than everyone elses. I told the dealership about all the 4x4's out there getting better mileage even, and 4x2's and they dont believe me!

Raven,

Something seems a-miss with your mileage figures but recently I read a Click and Clack article on how the EPA arrives at the MPG figures that go on the sticker.

The highway mileage is arrived at by driving a pre-production model for a total of 10 miles (I presume a measured flat track). At no time can the truck go over 60 miles per hour and the average speed is 48 miles per hour.

Is that how you or anyone else drives? If not, like the sticker say you may get less or more MPG than the sticker. The sticker is only meant as a means to compare different models since they all do the same 10 miles at an average speed of 48 MPH.

Good luck on getting to the bottom of your awful MPG.
