hello. my batt. died, so i charged it, died again... replaced the alternator, and the battery light is still on in the dash... and the battery is not getting charged.
what could this be? is there any way i can check if the power from the alternator is making it to the battery?

ps. the battery is holding a charge because i charge it every night so i can use the van during the day... the alt. is powering everything except the battery.

 

I had the same problem, replaced alt and still no charge. The harness from the alt to the battery was faulty. The large wire had internally corroded. it was brittle when flexed. I just cut both ends near the connectors and spliced and soldered a similar size wire. I found it after replacing the ignition switch, alt, posotive battery cable and I forget the rest....Bingo no problems since...

 

ya i fixed it.
turns out the power from the alt was not making it to the battery.

after days of searching i finaly found a wire that had been corroded so bad it actually broke in half.

i just reconnected it and cleaned it up a little and it was fine!
