Question Got Doors?

I was wondering if it was hard to replace the doors on a 98' ranger. I have manual everything and I want to change them to power windows and locks. I was just thinking of taking two doors the same color as mine and swaping them out. I wanted to make sure that theres not a lot of work as far as alignment and instalation of new locks.

If anyone has done this or can help me towards the right direction I would be very thankful.

anyone got doors?

I would just swap the parts into your doors, even if you found the same color, paint fades differently and they may not match the truck.

I was actually thinking about doing the same thing....except just replacing the guts, not the whole doors. Oh, and maybe doing the mirrors too, since one is already broke. Has anyone done this, and how hard is it (how much wiring)? I assume they probably just wire up all the trucks the same, then just don't put in the power locking mechanisims on the manual trucks.....But I don't know for sure. Any info would be helpful. I'll probably tear apart the door today to take a look, since i need to clean and lube up the locks anyway.

I have found that the trucks come with and without power packages. The wiring is not there for non power trucks, it not only isn't in the door harness, but its not in the cab harness. Easy way to check is pull a floor kick panel and look at the connector feeding the door for the right color wires.

My dad just dented the door on his 98 in a little fender bender and I'm looking for only the shell. If someone finds a door and wants just the guts, let me know miner2000@yahoo.com. I can possibly part with the damaged door + cash in exchange for a good condition power door. I haven't started looking around in the local yards because this just happened about an hour ago.

From the sounds of it I am not the only one who wishes they had power doors. Although the wiring harness are not there is there an opening for them where they would plug into the power source? Or is it more involved than just buying the harness and guts? And does anyone have a link or more info on actually changing the insides out?

Swaping doors/swaping door guts?? I would just reccomend using one of spal's power window conversion kits a friend of mine has them in his ranger and they are great no problems and they have been in around 6 months now.

Go after market. The door harness needs to plug into the main dash harness and the wiring isn't there. You would need to replace the dash harness and both door harness. I have done it and you need another vehicle to strip and then pull your dash out, apart, and replace all the wiring.
