f350 with overload rear springs
hey all
i have my 2004 f250 regular cab and i recently purchased f350 blocks to raise the back the extra ~2 inches (so sits level when loaded with my car trailer after settling the springs). I also purchased what i thought was the correct u-bolts for this scenerio (longest configuration i believe - 4" block, spacer, springs, axle, overload spring, and plate) I just checked the new u-bolts, and they are the same length as the ones on my truck, which only have about 1.5" of thread above the nuts. can anyone with an f350 that still h as the 4" bkocks and has the factory overload springs run out and either take a picture or just measure how much thread comes above the nuts? If i use these bolts, i dont think the thread will even come out of the nut, and there is no way i will install them like that, as u-bolts stretch/loosen up from time to time, and without any extra thread, that owuld be really bad. I can always just go to the spring shop and get longer ones, just wanna know what the factory setup was supposed to be. (these u-bolts are approx 13" long from bottom of u to end of thread ... i figure i need about 15")
thanks

thanks much for the pics .... i guess it might work out .. just doesnt seem to add up that i will have even that much .. but since it is not much sticking out, i'll give it a whirl, worst case i gotta go get different ones, cause i ordered the ones for a srw f350 with overloads, which specs out as a m16-2 108/320 ... longest one avail. for ford axle, and they seem the same length (put over axle and up next to the existing bolts) as the stock ones on my 250 w/ overloads, which only have 1.25 maybe 1.5 inch of thread sticking up.
