lol my screen name...nothing like stirring the pot is there..we own both trucks at home cummins and 7.3 powerstroke both autos so go figure...
anyways so whats the fav of the big three?? hmm i dunno all depends what u want it to do.....the duramax has lots of aftermarket boxes and programmers and chips or whatever. The truck is made is made of plastic (sorry...couldnt resist the exaggeration to all chevy fans) so its gonna be light and always gonna have more potential to go faster...the engine internals are light and the thing can rev....the cummins is really heavy not a vehicle application in origin at all...designed initially to rev at peak horsepower for hours and hours without changing throttle much....too heavy to really go fast still dont know how guys get em to be as fast as they are
the new 6.0 is a lil tougher built duramax with a better truck behind it....ideal for what it does...when people say dodge trucks dont last as long describe that i really dunno what that means. u mean electrical wiring?? or rust ?? they both rust and wiring sux in both....BUT alot more fords are used daily for routine work so they do have braggin rights because they've proven tough in that department...townships, and all kinds of companies have huuge contracts with fords so u see them alot for working companies so thats proof. nevermind that anyhow....i think the 7.3 was a better motor for work. its not a screamer like the 6.0 revs lower and was a proven motor. The 6.0 is great attraction for young kids cause they see big power advertisements and the thing revs but if ur serious about work and for the older guys..i'll keep my 7.3 thanx....if i wanna mollest a motor to incredible power numbers and not worry then i'll take a cummins...if i want gaser wannabe diesel then i'll take a duramax

I worked for a company that had an 86 F250 with a PSD in it. The truck went thru 2 rear axles, 3 transmissions, 1 steering box, glow plugs..and 1 injection pump....but.....they sold it with over 400k on the motor.....and never turned a wrench on the engine. That was 6 years ago....I still see the same truck on the road to this day. I have to say it was one tough truck. It saw all kinds of use...and abuse from being a company vehicle that most any one that worked there drove it. The PSD is one tough engine.

This thread is a bunch of blah blah blah. For 99% of truck owners, the stock Ford with PSD and TorqShift is the best all-around truck on the market, bar none. Faster, tows more at higher speeds, better shifting, better reliability, better quality.
Who is the most powerful? Try this for a trade-comparison calculation:
Ford: 325 Horsepower x 15 years of good truck = 4,875 lifetime horsepower-years
Dodge: 325 Horsepower x 8 years of good truck = 2,600 lifetime horsepower-years
Thus, your average Ford/PSD delivers more total power over it's lifecycle than any other truck. This makes the Ford/PSD the most power truck on the light truck market. This is also what causes major pontificating by the Dodge/Cummins brainwashed crowd, and creates desperate attempts at venues (like drag racing) to find something ... anything ... that the Dodge/Cummins can be "better" at.
But drag-racing is all show. The countless Fords on farms and roads across 3,000 miles of this continent are the proof in the pudding.
