Question 2004 F350 Front Axle?

Can anyone tell me what front axle is on your 2004 F350 SRW? I have ordered a 4WD converted E350 van which is supposed to be fitted with the same front axle as the 2004 F350 SRW. The converter doesn't seem to be able to tell me exactly what axle they're putting on.

The Ford web site specs the front axle as a Dana 60 with 9" ring gear. That sounds like a Dana 50 to me, as a 60 is supposed to have a 9.75" ring gear. The Dana 50, besides having a lower torque rating than the 60, has very little in the way of aftermarket differentials available for it.

If anyone could give me the Dana BOM number off their front axle tube I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it's the 60. Ford just don't do decimals on those things for some reason. They quit using the 50 after '01 model year.

Thanks. According to this thread the 2004 SRW has a Dana 60 front, and the Ford Truck Body Builder web site lists it as Dana 60 9" when it should be 9.75".

Can anyone get me the Dana Bill of Materials number off the axle tube. I believe it will start with a 6.

Thanks.
