Clear Coat on plastic pieces?

I'm looking at ways to dress up under the hood of my new 2004 Heritage. I thought about cleaning off the dust and applying a coat of clearcoat to the radiator shroud plastics and the throttle body cover (thing that reads "TRITON 4.6"). Anyone have ideas on that?

automotive paint supply shops should be able to reccomend a high temp clearcoat. I would extract the part, scotch pad it , prime it , paint it then clearcoat.
