axle decoding

I can't find "23" in my parts book. Check and see if that's correct. I looked by application and 65 F-350's start with 4.10 and go lower as in 4.10, 4.56, 4.88, 5.13 or 5.87 ratios. It's a spicer rear end. There is also a tag bolted to the center circle of bolts. See what you can find and post it.

camperspecial65,
thanks for the info, i am looking for a donor axle for my 60 f350 that has a bettter "driving" ratio than my Rockwell 5.83 axle that is currently in place.
I have always wondered what those numbers after the ratio's meant, how do the 7.2 and 7.4 and other numbers correlate to capacity?
My shop manual lists my axle as a 5.83 - 7.2M
thanks again
