Signals on the 04 Telescoping TT mirrors?

Recently picked up an 04 PSD CC with the TT mirrors, heated and signals.

Was wondering about the signal function. When I signal, the outside, forward facing amber lens also lights. There is a portion of the mirror lens on the far outside, which is red in color. I was assuming this was a rear facing signal, but it doesn't flash. Is this just a reflector?

Thanks

my 04 is the same way, yea i think the red is just a reflector and the yellow is the LED blinker portion.

The blinking amber lights are also visible from the rear if you're in the lane on that side of the truck. I thought the same thing, though. I assumed red would blink and be visible from behind.

I think the reasoning behind it was so that the red didnt blink in the drivers field of vision.

The red lenses aren't visible to the driver. It's directly under the amber lens that blinks.

Hi Guys: Hope this question isn't to stupid, but how warm is the heated glass on your mirrors? The reason I ask is my mirrors fogged over the other night ( temp. was 34 degrees) and the dealer said this is normal. I can not feel any difference in temps. between the convex mirror and the heated glass. Thanks for the help.

Dealer lied, the whole purpose is to melt ice and prevent fogging. They should be noticeably warm to the touch but not so that you couldn't hold your hand there. I don't know the exact temp.

At all times when the vehicle is running, of course. I haven't gotten to see how long it takes mine to defrost since it hasn't been cold enough here yet.
