Spark Plug replacements on my 5.0L
I have a 98 Mountaineer with a 5.0L V8. My owners manual recommends a AWSF-32EE spark plug. I removed a AWSF-32E plug from the engine. Does anyone know the difference between the EE and E plug?
Also, these plugs are not available anymore. Ford recommends a AGSF32FMF4. Is this a fine wire plug or a double platinum plug?
Also, does anyone know the difference between the following (2) spark plug wire sets? WR-6034 and WR-6042? On the Motorcraft web site, it appears the 6042 is for a tubular manifold, which is what I have, but our local Ford dealer says that the WR-6034 is the replacement for the 6042 and that it will work. I just want to make sure the boots won't contact any exhaust after the installation. Thanks for any comments!

I did a Google search for the new plugs and found a thread on the new plugs here... http://v8sho.com/SHO/SparkplugDesign.htm .
Seems like these are the "fine wire" type.
Seems our vehicle is a bit of a pain, no? There seems to be no sross reference for the new plugs and the old one isn't listed for the mountaineer on the Motorcraft site!
Have you tried to get a third party replacement for the PCV valve? After a few bad aquisitions (always got elbow-style not the OEM straight-thru) I finally found the Fram FV352 cross references to the OEM EV-152D (the "D" wasn't in my manuals part number).
Sorry I can't help with the other items. I'm expecting the shop manual CD any day and will let you know if it covers them.
