Looking at a 1962 F100 that has 4 wheel drive and a unibody. (VIN is F10 so clearly a conversion.) I want to use the truck to haul wood and tow a boat from time to time (20-25 footer). Will the unibody handle this or are the stories of doors not opening/twisting true?
Depends on the amount of corrosion and past repairs. IS the torque box intact? How well was the conversion done. Is it even sitting on the original frame?
You have a 5000 Max GVRW on the F100 so you can haul about 600 pounds of wood with you in the truck.

Garbz
Hey garbz. I know you are super knowledgeable. I'm picking up a 61 f100 4x4 as a parts truck for my 61 unibody. Are the body mounts the same.? Wanting to swap my unibody onto that chassis and frame. Not using it for off road. Strictly city driving. What's my best option with this?
The rear frame is a different profile. Fairly straight from the front cab mount back on the 4x4. but not insurmountable with some shimming. No idea if the holes will line up but that is just a matter of re-drilling.
