Xtra vision bulbs for F150 now available

WOOHOOOO. I just ordered Sylvania's brand new Xtra vision bulbs for the 2004 F150. The only distributor they have sent it to is Pep boys and that was late last week so they probably won't have it stocked for a month or more. Sylvania gave me the name of their distributor and they are sending me a pair. Cost is is $25.71 each for the 9008 (H13 is their model number)Xtra vision. Ill be the first ones in my state to have them.

For those of you who want the info on the distributor, email me and ill send it over..... Friday when Im sure my order is sealed and no one else jumps in front of me.. hahahahahah

Hi All,
Found H13 at www.sylvania.com for all to order.

  • Outperforms all dual-filament designs and rivals performance characteristics of many single-filament light sources.
  • Computer-driven design, engineering, and manufacturing ensure precision filament position and facilitates consistent beam patter.
  • Robust construction designed to withstand significant road vibration, resulting in an average life of over 1500 hours.
  • More compact design provides stylists with the ability to create lower-profile headlamp assemblies.
  • Allows for reduced headlamp component content while cutting assembly labor and simplifying aftermarket maintenance.
  • Complies with all ECE and NAFTA regulations while satisfying both U.S. and European consumer priorities.

is that the factory replacement? They have had that one for a while since they are the ford f 150 official replacement vendor. the extra vision is the only upgrade to the factory bulb.

probably because they are brand new and the demand for them is huge. The silverstars are not available yet for the headlights.

The following is a reply I received a couple of days ago from customer service at Sylvania in regard to what bulbs are available for the 2004/05 F150:

"Thank you for your inquiry. According to the information provided by Ford, the 2004 and 2005 F-150 use part H13 in their headlight application and part 9145 in their fog light application. Neither of these parts are available in SilverStar. Part 9145 is currently in development to be added to our SilverStar product line. The release date has not been provided at this time. Part H13 is currently only available in the standard format and as part of the XtraVision product line. The XtraVision would offer the standard color of light; however, it has been through a filament redesign which takes the light that would get lost as it goes up into the darkness and focuses it back downward to the shoulder and foreground area of the vehicle. Unfortunately, we will not be adding this part to our SilverStar product line at this time. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wrote it into specification that this bulb cannot be coated. Although we can request a waiver, this is not currently in progress. Please watch our website for additions to the SilverStar product line."
