I have an 04 expy EB with a cd-6 and purchased a Factory Navigation, that was on a 03 expy. I've called the local ford dealer for installation & they said it can not be installed, it has to pre-wired on the assembly line. Is this true???

 

There are a lot of functions that needs to be pre-wired in order for the navigation system to work, wo you can take advantage of this very expensive radio, like the GPS antenna and some other sensors. Besides, this radios does not use the same connector type that the CD6. You can try making yourself (or ask one service center to do it) a harness converter to connect only the features you need for navigation and for sure it will work.

 

It can be done by a experience installer. My 03 xlt with 6 disc has been converted to lincoln dvd base touchscreen navigation system.It work great and look factory. The cd base navigation from ford will need new dash bezel,because it larger (2.5 din) than 6 cd radio.The possitive side is it selfcontain, and does not need external amp. All it needs is gps antenna and
cd map disc.

 

Where can I get the gas antenna and the larger bezels, do u have any images of what will be needed.
