Exclamation #6 cylinder still misfiring

2001 Sport Trac- Replaced the wires, plugs and had the fuel injectors cleaned but the CEL came back on after resetting the computer. Read the code, same thing- #6 cylinder misfiring. CEL will blink after idling for a couple of minutes. Is the #6 cylinder closest to the cab on the driver side? I pulled that wire off the plug and it did not change how it was running. Maybe fuel filter?

Maybe a bad fuel injector/electrical connection and not an ignition problem? Check for pulse voltage and a good connection on the wiring at the injector on the dead cylinder. Swap the suspected failed injector to another cylinder and see if the problem follows the injector to verify the injector is failed. I'd also highly, highly doubt you have a fuel fillter problem as only one cylinder is affected. BTW, was there spark on the plug wire when you pulled it?

Like Bill says, it's either the number 6 injector not working, or a failed coil pack.

Cylinder #6 is indeed the one next to the driver's side firewall. (From front to back, 1-2-3 is passenger side, 4-5-6 is driver's side.)

Thanks for the advice. I am going to replace the injector and hopefully that will be it.
