48 Ford F5 6 to 12 Volt Conversion
Can anyone tell me if there are any 12 volt conversion kits available for a 48 F5 that currently runs on a 6 volt generator? I would like to convert it like I did my Ford 8N tractor so I can use a conventional negative ground 12 volt battery. My challenge is getting an alternator or 12 volt generator to line up in the old generator space. It eats 6 volt batteries just like my tractor used to.

I am also planning to covert my truck to 12 volt. There is a good write-up in the tech articles section on 6 to 12 volt conversion. It has a nice electrical diagram for building a voltage regulator.

6 to 12 Volt:
If you are not an electrican, take it to an auto electric shop and have them set your origenal Genarator set up for 12 volt, change your coil, light bulbs, resisters and get a vooltage reducer from 12 to 6 vole for your gages.
you can then wire to anything new you put in to the 12 volt and make it all work. Good luck.
