Exclamation bed panel replaced/spray-in bedliner

Back in January 04, my truck was hit while it was parked in front of my house. Went through all the insurance claim stuff, had the truck repaired at the dealer's body shop. They replaced not repaired the driver side bed panel. The repair was really nice.

Went two weeks ago to replace a factory dropin bed liner with a line-x bedliner. They took out the dropin cleaned the bed scraped the small rust spots, and sprayed the bed. After spraying one coat the owner of the shop came in and told me they had to strip the paint and reprime a side of the bed, I asked him what side and he side the drivers side. I let him know that that side had been replaced due to accident. So they finished the job asked me to look at it, it looked really nice at least I thought. He said they had to put more on the side that was replaced to get it to look right. He told me that I would be covered in the line-x warrenty and that the bed of the truck was protected.

I asked him what he thought was wrong and he said that beening it was used something could of been spilled on it that soaked into the metal or casused a reation to the metal.

He suggest calling the insurance company and complain to them that you did not get "same or better quality" parts.

Question 1. Has anybody had anything like this before and if so what did you do?

Question 2 What do you guys think I should do?

any help is good help thanks ahead of time

sorry about long post

My guess is the line-x guy is handing you a line of s**t. I'd bet that their standard prep job was insufficient enough to prepare the newer sheet metal properly.

I think it was a "used" bed side, so maybe the guy was right and it had some contaminants that werent removed all the way, hard to tell without seeing exactly what was done.
