fair trade?

fair trade?
i have a '76 f150 4x4 that runs well, is kinda beat up (farm truck). a guy i just talked to has a 1960 f250 4x4 that runs well also (352 i think). is the '60 3/4 ton a good, tough truck (i know that's a generic question, but i know nothing about these older ones). i'd really like a 3/4 ton and the '60 is a manual, not automatic like mine. does this sound like a fair trade or am i crazy wanting to trade newer for older?
thanks

I think John's right on the face of it - just looking at farm truck vs farm truck, because you know what you have in the 76.
You say you would like the tougher F250 and the manual tranny. That would point me to do the trade. But I would do the trade mostly because I'm into these old trucks. I'd have the features and toughness I want and get more looks at the cool older rig. Also, the 76 will be a while before (and if) it is ever considered desirable as a vintage. The 60's are already moving up in value and price.
My 56 is a street rod and working truck. I think it's the best of both worlds.

thanks. i looked at the truck tonight and it wasn't half bad. a few rust spots, but the body was straight (was an old service truck). detroit locker in the rear end and 4 speed truck tranny (i was told) for pulling stuff? (probly just normal tranny). anyhow, i liked it and i could get it for under a grand...sound like a decent deal? runs and drives fine i'm told. so i guess my question would be how sellable will this truck be/is this truck? would i be able to sell it "easily" or will it be difficult to find another buyer if i ever decide to part with it (assuming i get it)
thanks for the info
