Rear end whine
I too have the dreaded 'whining' noise coming from the rear end. Mine was also built in K.C. at about the same time. My F150 SuperCrew has been in the shop several times now for the whining problem.
In late July, Ford advised dealers that they are 'working' on a solution and told dealers to stop replacing various parts in search of a solution. I've told my local service advisor that I plan on staying on him until it is resolved. He told me that they have tried replacing everything from shims to rear ends, transmissions, etc. but nothing has been a permanent fix to date.
I finally decided that I would rather Ford come up with a permanent fix instead of the local dealer just replacing parts at random. I'm patient.....for now.
