I live in Bonaire and I'm interested in meeting fellow Ford truck lovers in the Georgia Chapter. I'm not experienced in truck restoration, but I'd like to learn from those of you who are willing to share some advice.
I inherited a 71 F100 Sport Custom longbed from my dad who passed away a few years ago. It's in pretty good shape and has a 351W in it that runs well, but has a small oil leak that I'm guessing is due to the gaskets needing replacement. I don't know the history on the truck or all the specifics, but I'd like to steadily improve it as the monetary funds are available.
Does anyone know the type of tranny that this truck should have that mounts to a 351W? I'm guessing a C type auto. It seems to slip a little from 2nd to 3rd gear.
Thanks. Yeah, I like the truck a lot. It's really a lot of fun to drive and it sorta takes you back to some simpler times - except for the gas prices - Ouch!
Thanks for the post. Look forward to meeting you all at some future event.
No, never heard of it. Probably because I've only been back home here in Georgia now for two and a half years. I lived overseas and out in California for quite some time, so I'm catching up on activities here in the state.
