I bought some fuel filters from the same place I bought my case of Stanadyne fuel additive. I went to change the fuel filter and found out that the old filter is the type that is the filter and screw on cover all-in-one! The filters that I bought are the type with the clips on each side! Can I just buy a new cover, and would it cost me a fortune?

A new cannister cover for my '00 was close to $50 at my local dealer. I was fortunate enough to find a fellow FTE member who was willing to sell me theirs a LOT cheaper (thanks AGAIN, rvfiver!). Perhaps you could do the same.........

 

I was just curious.....do new clips come with the filters or do you have to switch over the old ones?

I switched my filter over to the one that comes with the cover too as that was all the auto parts store carried. I must admit they are a lot easier to use with that socket in its top. However, the price is starting to get to me!! Fortunately I kept my old cover so I just need to find a source for the other type of filters. Is there any place online where anyone might suggest?
