My 1988 F250 needed a new ignition switch. I called the local ford dealer and they said $29.95! Could it be true? Then they said not in stock!( It figures, to good to be true!) They told me they could order it, I said do it. They called me two hours later and said "Your switch is here" I couldn't believe it. I went to get the switch and my muffler on my Dodge Omni Fell off! It will cost me $170.00 to fix the Omni but I do have a new ignition switch for my truck!!
If by ignition switch you mean the Key/Lock cylinder, I just bought one at the dealer for $29 and Advance wanted $39. The electrical switch is definitely cheaper. The fact that the dealer was $10 cheaper on that part than Advance blew my mind.
best quality is always motorcraft, or borg warner,
i have found a few things i only get from them, electrical stuff is one of them, everything i get from a discount place seems to burn up, starter selinoid, dimmer switch, go figure.
The switch included the lock cylinder and two keys. Advance wanted 38.94!
The $170 included an new lifetime muffler and exhaust pipe over the axle from the catalytic convertor. It was done 50 miles from home during the middle of a major thunderstorm! It sure is a lot quieter!
