Ranger Forum Helps Again!!!
I just wanted to thank everyone who posts on this board. I generally read every post, just incase I ever experience the same problem.
Last week I had just arrived at home and got out of my '95 XLT 3.0. I shut the door and hit the RKE lock button twice. (Honks the horn once to let you know all doors are shut and locked, twice if a door is not shut all the way.) As soon as I hit the button, it honked twice. After roaming around and making sure that both doors were shut, and even the hood (there is a pushbutton under the hood, that is hooked into the RKE\Alarm system). Everything was shut and the truck kept honking twice.
Thats when I remembered prior posts to this board. I guess the in-door sensor to tell the truck that the door is shut messes up at some time or another. I got in the truck, shut the door, and started it up. The door ajar light stayed on, the interior lights stayed on, and the annoying chime kept right on going.
Because of this board, I immediately went to the garage to get the WD-40. One little shot of it in the latch on the door, and the problem dissapeared. If not for this board, I would have torn the door apart trying to find out what was going on!
THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!!
