Air Lift

Well as I stated in my "Brake Controller" post. The first time I tied onto the trailer Thursday night I watched the *** end drop about 2". Then Friday I went and loaded my boss's tractor on it and WOW did it sag. Dang sure ain't my Superduty. It didn't squat 2" with trailer and tractor, yes I have hauled it several times. So I went and got my AirLift set-up with on-board air Friday. Got busy at work Friday so I haven't had a chance to install it yet, but I'm sure the bags will do the trick.

Question now is, Anyone else running helper bags on their '04? And do you have the on-board air set-up? And if so, Where you mount the controls/gauge?

You guys telling me Nobody has bags. Is anyone but me pulling a trailer pften and not too happy about how much the *** end sags. Or am I the only one that can't stand it when a truck is sagging in the *** regardless of being loaded or not.

Well I put the Daystar 2.5" leveling kit in mine and it sits level. So when I hook the trailer up it sags that 2"-2.5". Ford thought that out well....lol. I tow whatever I need to. I am always hauling stuff all the time. May be a car, may be a truck, or just stuff in the bed. (Engines, trannys, etc.)

How much are the air bags?

I pull a trailer daily and have the Daystar 2.5 and a 3" Body Lift and I do have a little SAG.

I would be interested in getting the NO SQUAT fix -- LOL!

I paid $180 for the bags and $125 for the on-board air. I haven't installed it yet, as I've been busy at work and doing some heavy yard work at home. So hopefully sometime this week I'll get it all on. Still undecided where I'm gonna mount the on-board controls/gauge. Not much room on the dash on these things if you have the flow through console. Still in that same boat on my brake controller as well. I can't find a good place that's out of my way.

I got the air lift set-up. I believe it is called, load controller II. I will check that for sure when I get to work though.

I'm looking into a toy hauler. My 04' has a 6" suspension lift and I hooked on to my friends to see the sag. Wow! Five inches! The hitch weight is 1200lbs (8000lb trailer)
He pulls it with a 2500HD with air bags. The trailer I'm looking at has a hitch weight of 1000lbs the Air lift set up says it will provide 2000lbs of lift so in theory with the bags I should have no problem, but five inches was a big suprise. Does any one have some real world experience with these bags in regards to hitch weight?

I don't yet as I haven't installed them yet. But yes they do say 2000 lbs of weight at the axle. I sure hope they work for me. I'll be pretty ****ed if they don't do the trick. I'll have to step up to the big boys.
