The Care & Feeding Of Alcoa Wheels
Merry Christmas All!
My new Ranger has the FX4-Levell II package, which includes the Alcoa Aluminum Wheels.
It is my understanding that Alcoa wheels are un-coated.
This is the first set of un-coated Aluminum Wheels I've ever owned, and I'm not sure how to maintain them. The owners manual doesn't have any information either.
I went to the Alcoa Wheels web site, and the sell some special cleaners. I'm going to order that stuff in after christmas.
Is the spray wheel cleaner they use at car washes ok on these wheels? How about the common spray cleaners sold in Auto stores?
Thanks
Larry

Whatever you do, do not use an etcher or acid based cleaner. ZEP sells a citrus based foam cleaner that works great on aluminum wheels and a metal polish too. I used the ZEP products with great success getting mirror finishes on tractor and trailer ALCOA wheels.

Reminds me of my Navy days when we would clean fire nozzles and other Brass fittings in Bug-Juice.
