Post It's great to be in a Ford again!!

Hello Everyone!
As they say, the criminal always returns to the scene of the crime.
I was the proud owner of a 1985 Bronco II for over 10 years. After 350,000 miles and 1 engine rebuild,The duct tape and baling wire just wouldn't hold it together anymore. So, I am sad to say, I deserted from the ranks and (now please don't hate me for this) I bought a 96 Cherokee.
Well the Cherokee served me well for almost 100,000 miles. True it wasn't a Ford, but when I got my new(to me)boat I knew that a change was in the offing. 4000 lb towing cap. my butt! It pulled it, but not without complaining about it.
About the time my thoughts turned to bigger and better an angel of pain entered my life a week before Christmas in the form of a despondant female with thoughts of suicide on her mind. This angel decided that she would end it all by ramming the left rear corner of my Jeep at 45 mph with her p.o.s. Chrysler. She failed in her attempt to off herself, but she did murder the innocent bystander, hurling it 30 feet up onto the sidwalk in front of the neighbor's house.
So to make a short story long, I am now the proud owner of a Bright Red 98 F150 s-cab short bed. I am glad to be back, and I promise I will never stray again.
So let the modification games begin! The soft tonneau, bug deflector, and K&N filter are already in place. Much more to come!

Cliff

aerocolorado, I'm sure you meant no harm, but I find your comment offensive to my religion. :-X23 I'm glad he came back to Ford, too, as I'm always happy to see people remain loyal to Ford Motor Company. I just wished you expressed it in a less offensive way.

As a Roman Catholic I find nothing offensive about it. Its quite funny, nearly as funny as the Baptist preacher electrocuting himself because he forgot to unplug his microphone before going into the dunk tank....

A preacher, a priest and a rabbi are playing golf....

I don't take it so seriously that I can't have fun with it. Heck, my priest has the best Catholic jokes you've heard....

It's great to be in a Ford again!!

Hi Everyone,
There's nothing I like better than being the center of controversy. Seems to follow me wherever I go.
Well, I am very happy with the new (to me) truck. I've put just under 5,000 miles on it and it sure is a fine piece of equipment. I pulled the boat with it just to see how it would handle, I didn't even know it was back there. And the design guy at Ford that decided to put the oil filter under the bumper should be nominated for a Nobel Prize. I have done a lot of oil changes in my life, and this is the first time I replaced a filter and didn't get a river of oil running down my arm.
I am so impressed with it, and this group, that I have poneyed up for a membership here and doubt that anything but a Ford is in my future.
Now if we would just get some snow......

Cliff

Actually, it was the Hail Henry's that was in the center of the controversy.

Welcome aboard FTE !
