Backup Lights - Possible Backup Indicator (Sound)
Hello,
Seems like every where In go lately people are trying to walk or drive out in back of me while I am already backing.
I thought about making a score sheet, and seeing how many points I would get before getting arrested, ; ) however, I suppose it would just be better to install a (not too noisy) backup indicator to let people know I am coming and to open their eyes, and ears, seeing as they do not see the reverse lights (Yes I checked them to be sure that they are working).
In any case, I am looking at whatever options I can find for a warning indicator as well as backup lights so that I can see more clearly behind me at night. Its seems as this truck (04 Lariat SCrew) is more difficult to see out of when backing.
Anyone have any good options/solutions for either idea?
Thanks,
Dave

Anyone tried the bulbs?
Can you adjust volume, I dont want them to be too loud or annoying, just enough that someone really close hears them.
Also, how do they look when you just replace one?
Thanks,
Dave

I just bought designtech Back Up Alert w/ brigther bulb and brigther light #3156 from Pep boy (both total about $28).
I dont see any adjust volume and it stats 87 DB sounds.
I will install it tomorrow but i havent look at taillight to figure out how to unplug it then plug new in..then get back here to update to let you know how it works..
Any tips??
Also i just remebered that i saw a truck that has 2 oval lights right between trailer hitch 2" and plug it trail plug. i ll look for it and paste link in here if i find it.

Yoman...just drop the tailgate and you'll see 2 bolts (8mm, I think) on either side of the bed, take them out and the taillight assys just drop out. Pretty painless.
As far as installing a backup alarm, just do what we do at work...beep your horn twice before backing up (making sure you check your mirrors and look out the back)!! It might be low-tech, but it's effective; everybody looks!
