Thumbs up FX4 Exhaust

I had a 2001 Super crew great truck but I loved the new body style so for my on retirement gift I got a new FX4 flair side Scab. Love the truck but need some real tires and a better sound. I have pulled the old speakers out and replaced them with Memphis Acoustic, sounds good in the truck but it sounds wimpy outside. I am a quality freak so I think I want BORLA.

Do they fit right on the flair sides?

Does it interfere with the spare tire?

Which is better - single or dual back?

Does Borla sound aggressive and deep but enjoyable?

Well you are making a good choice if you want quality. I got the Borla and I am very happy. Magnaflow is another good system.

I have the Banks cat-back and like it alot. I have installed several Borla systems on the older trucks (none on the '04's yet) and let me assure you the Banks system fits better than any I've installed. And sounds real deep and throaty.

I have asked the same questions and yes it will fit the flareside. The Borla #140086 is the single exhaust out the side and the #140087 is the dual out the back. I just ordered one from socalmotorsports for a little cheaper than their ebay price. Talk to John, great to deal with. Tell him you are an F-150online member. Haven't heard any negatives about Borla and can't wait to get it on the truck.

My 2004 FX4 has a 40 series Flowmaster and it sounds ok, throaty @ 2k rpm. Im thinking of emulating the Lightening style exhaust but wonder if my right rear tire will be affected by frost in the winter, I live in Alaska so who knows? Im reusing the factory tailpipe until i decide to change it out and bend my own duals like the lightening and tip it with some slashcuts. I work at Meineke and the install was a snap. the super 40 series sounds louder, wish i would of put that on instead.
