Which spark plugs for Edel RPM Heads?

I have the regular edelbrock rpm heads, and I was just wondering if one of the guru's could give me a quick answer to what plugs to use? Couldn't seem to find it with search engine. thanks

Autolite 3924. Use the little metal gaskets that come with them. Typical FE plugs will NOT work.

The gap is dictated by your ignition system. If it is a duraspark, then use the stock ford specs. If it is aftermarket, the manufacturer will provide a spec. My Crane system called for .035.

If you are running an MSD system or any other performance system. you should be able to open the gap to .045 or even .050 to .055. I am running the MSD 6 box with the new MSD Blaster 2 potted coil. at present I have tried the .045 gap. what a differance that made. I am going to try the .050 gap next. after I get my new Edel heads bolted on. spark gap is based on how strong your IGN system is and what kind of Carb, Intake, Head CC, Cam grind, Dist ADV Curve you have. you can set them at the stock .035 and it will work fine. but you may want to try some experimentation with your gap. do it in .005 steps at a time and record your findings on paper. then you have a record to go by. see where you get the best power gain with out miss fire. please remember this is only a suggestion. it is working for me. I got this info from a IGN performance book I found. it is published by HP BOOKS, the author is Christopher Jacobs. Yep the very one him self. Jacobs IGN systems. at any rate, the book has some realy good info in it. most of every thing there is what I leared working at FORD. but he also goes a lot deeper in to the theroy and why the systems work. not just how. also you can have to much coil out put and all you are doing then is blowing off the tips of you plugs. street engines should be fine in the 45k to 50k rage. again it all depends on how much engine you have to lite up. Good luck and I hope I have help you in your decision.

By all means, use a light coating of anti-seize compound on the spark plug threads before you install them in an aluminum head!

I am glad I was of some help to you. and the Lone ranger is on the mark with the anti-seize, make sure you use it on the plug threads. and remember on the Alum heads, just snug em up a bit. please dont wrench em in real tight. you can fix the bad threads if it happens but why go there.

on your MSD system. Make sure you use 10 guage wire to feed the system from the Batt. your Ign wire is ony a signal input for the system now. this monster feeds off of the Batt for AMPs. one other recomendation. I installed the MSD voltage spike protector on mine. you don't have to. but when you are spending the money for a MSD Ign system, why not protect your invest ment. good luck on your project!
