Keep in mind. I don't think forums accuratley represent the full "owning" public in satisfaction or vehicle problems.
First, many people who are happy owners never will seek out a board such as this. A great many more unhappy folks will.
I think the old addage is that an unhappy customer will tell ten people on the average, a happy one may tell one...
Thank you. I tried to make this very point here a few months ago, and had my head served to me on a platter. Of course, that was from someone much "cruel"-er than all of you. You can't rely on forums like this for non-partisan, scientific data.
2004 4x4 XLT SuperCrew, 350 Miles since August 1st, Thats right, it is not a typo, ONE Tank of Gass that I put in it today! Just been driving it around on the weekends until, the Corporate Lease Car ****'s Come and Get the company lease car at the end of the month.
2004 FX4 Supercab. Picked it up in July, 5700 trouble free miles so far. I love the truck. It is like night and day compared to the 2001 XLT Supercab I traded for it.
Actually the Brake Dust is bugging the Crap out of me! I have to keep washing the rims, i am going to change the Pads, but don't feel i shoud have to change brake pads on a new truck. But i know that i will not wash the rims as often as time goes on!
6000+ miles on a 2004SCREW FX4. No problems at all except my BRAKES decided to go on vacation last week. To me, this is the worst problem I ever had with a new truck. Might have been a freak accident, but just BEWARE. FORD blamed a faulty master cylinder and ABS module for the mishap. 4 others on this site have had the same problem. I know this is an "I love my truck" thread, but this is important.
BTW, I do love the truck, it's just that the brake problem scared the SH_T out of me.
'04 fx4x4 screw 5.4 V8 18" wheels. Just over 6400 miles, only time it has been to dealer is for LOF. Not a single complaint. Fords Rule, and the rest DROOL.

Side note:::: FYI-my brother's dealer covered this under warranty by installing ceramic pads. It fixed the problem for about a month but I saw his truck last weekend and the dust is back with a vengence. Makes you wonder if they did use ceramics. Oh, they also turned his rotors...he wasn't happy, knowing you can only get one turn out of them now a days.
04 fx4 scab, only 500 miles so far. Had wheel shimmy at 65-75. 3 bad tires replaced by dealer. No problems anymore. GREAT TRUCK! Man this thing is quiet!
mattpattberg, did you have General tires? Seems people are having trouble with them. I have had no problems with my General tires. I can't get over how quiet my truck is too. Sometimes it is hard to tell it is running. Especially since mine does not have a tach.
