I definitely dont think that dodge is a better truck. Never said it. Had some reliable dodges but Ill take a ford any day of the week. As for the diesels. Im an inline kinda guy. Just love em. Id rather have an inline diesel. Had a couple cummins. They were good engines. Very reliable. I wish I could stick one of lariats rebuilds in my ford. I prefer low end grunt over top end power. Im not in that big of a hurry.

Umm, if you can't turn over 265s with a PSD, there's something seriously wrong with your engine. My 4.6 can burn off a set of 285s, and it's an automatic.
And LH, not MY rebuilds, just ones at my local shop. See a lot of them going into old Power Wagons and such. I wouldn't have one for free.

I noticed the 96,97 Dodge interiors are far worse for wear than most of the 94 fords. Must just be better fabric and carpet on the Fords. Better cushion too.

I cant say. Ive torn the seat in the last four trucks I had. Had to replace the cushions in one of the fords and one of the dodges. My 96 ford f150 cushion didnt last 20k miles. I wear the cushion down in every vehicle. Even the little foreigns. Its not because Im obese, under 180lbs until recently, but because I drive my car much like a snowmachine. I move around alot. I can wear any seat down in under 100k. You should see my snowmachine seat. Had to have it reupholstered with less than 1000 miles on it.

Inline sixes tend to have less blowby at higher mileage. Perhaps gravity is to blame.
There are far more examples of 94 or newer 5.9s with super high mileage than PSD. Even though there are more than double the number of PSD.

I have never heard a cummins owner say. I just got her rebuilt. I have heard it from PSD owners.
How many PSD have you seen in person with over 500k miles. Ive seen several cummins with 500k but not one PSD over with over 300k.

I went to some local shops and asked if they had rebuilt cummins engines. The answer was no. I asked them if they had rebuilt PSD. The answer was yes. I asked if they had an opinion as to why. They said it was because the cummins was more durable than a PSD.

Just little things Ive noticed. I was very curious to see how they compared. It supported my theory that inline sixes are generally more durable than a v8. I poked around and could not find one mechanic who had ever seen a ford 300 with a wiped main. Check your local machine shops. See what you turn up.
Bologne sauce. I have seen a disel shop where they were rebuilding 2 cummins engines(5.9L). I have also seem them rebuild a few PSD's as well. Any engine that is worn needs a rebuild(did you know that?) My buddy has a 97 PSD that has 523K on it, he has had to replace the glow plugs once, and the glow plug relay once, other then that just regular mantinece and its running good, a little bit of oil smoke at cold starts but thats it. I have noticed that dodge interiors seem to be very infoerior as well. I dont think there is a noticeable difference between engine lognevity between the two, I think Fords glow plug setups could use some serious improvement though. My PSD isnt even broken in yet (110,000) and it is running good. I expect it will run very well for a long time, also the interior is in good shape except plastic console which is cracked in a few places.

It has been posted. Check it out. Probably not very responses yet, though.

I must add that the Cummins is a lot more tolerable on the highway with the 6 speed, if you have the 4.10s or 3.73s.

I have a 6 speed in my '04 600 and i love driving it up and down the road (loaded or not). I also have noticed that it gets 20.5 MPG at 65 MPH unloaded. Thats pretty good if you ask me, even though it drops to 12.5 at 80 MPH.
