Bronco II Reliability
I am looking at purchasing a 1990 Bronco II. I have owned mainly Ford vehicles in the past but, they were all full-size. How reliable are the Bronco II's? Are parts readily available? Are there any special considerations ot things I should pay attention to? I appreciate any information that I can get.

Bronco II Reliability
Got an 89 Bronco II with 130,000 miles on it. Runs great and has proven to be very reliable. Only problems have been 1) abs valve clogged shut with rust and disabled rear brakes 2) leaky valve covers 3) leaky ac evaporator and heater core 4) clogged radiator. All normal problems on old expendable parts. Super little vehicle that is sure to become a classic. If you have good shadetree mechanic skills, recommend buy it.

Bronco II Reliability
I have a 86' with 246,000 on it. It has been a wonderful truck. Had only couple of issues, fuel filter clogged and 4x4 stopped working (Currently trying to fix) Other than that I have had not much trouble. I have however, gone thru 4 left outer U-joints. It seems to be the achiles heel of the 4x4 drivetrain. I did the last one myself without much trouble.

Bronco II Reliability
My bronco II has been a great vehicle. It has over 200K on it and no major engine or tranny repairs as far as I know. I am the 3rd owner. Each of the 2 previous owners put around 100K on the truck and when I bought it, I could have been told that it had only 100K and probably believed it.
I would like to purchase another one, but need some advice on what to look for in spotting if a vehicle has been in a major collision. I have seen a couple vehicles on used car only lots that seem attractivly priced. But these vehicles came from out state because of the winter elements in here in the midwest.
Any advice one can give me on what to look for would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Bronco II Reliability
My Bronco sounds the same...
240,000 miles with a fuel filter problem that turned out to be the one at the back between the fuel tank and the pump. A lot of parts places said this filter did not exist in their books but Fisher Auto came up with the filter element.
My 4X4 does not work either and I would love to know what the problem is. The module is under a plate on the top of the dash and does not seem to be resonding to the buttom on the panel over the mirror.
.........HELP!!!!

Bronco II Reliability
Did you find a Bronco II yet? I have one and am considering selling it. I bought mine in Sept. of 1996 and the only thing I have done to it is replace a cracked head. I was told that is not uncommon for the 2.9L V-6. Mine is 2 tone (blue/silver) XLT package, air, cruise, tilt, power windows, locks, factory moon roof & has 128,000 miles on it. It's been a fun vehicle to own but I need something a little bigger.
