1960 F100 292 Fuel Pump

I’ve been trying to find a replacement for this fuel pump but I’m only finding the canister ones. It’s leaking fuel in between the top and bottom globe pieces. Is this part not available any more? If so, should I rebuild this or replace with the canister version? Thanks in advance!

Basically fuel pumps that have "crimped" halves are not rebuildable. The FE and the Y-Block share the same modern replacement fuel pump, with the integral fuel filter canister. These are oftentimes imported junk, so beware. I have a fuel pump just like that in the pic as a spare since it doesn't take up much room. I just checked, and can't find a part # on it anywhere.

Check to see that any replacement fuel pump does not exceed 5 to 6 psi (at most) static output pressure. A mechanic's vacuum gauge tests mechanical fuel pumps. This has become a real problem with parts stores.

Get a pump for an FE. You may not find an exact replacement so the fuel port configuration might be a little different, requiring slightly different routing for the fuel lines.

Thanks for the replies, I thought I was chasing a ghost! I’ll be sure to test it for output pressure.

I’ll be upgrading to the Sniper EFI soon but currently the truck takes quite a bit on the throttle to get going so I’m trying to cross off any issues before investing into the engine make over.

Thanks for all the help and advice, I ended up getting an FE pump. Needed to get a 45 degree fitting to reroute the fuel line but it all works perfectly! Thanks again guys!
