Door seals

Same prob with my 55, I just installed several weeks ago. My solution: Use a piece of heavy paper or paper thin plastic and place it over the seal and close the door on it. By pulling on the paper and working around the seal you can find the pinch points. I used a sharp box cutter, razor blade and high speed electric grinder with a 1/2" cone grinding wheel and slowly got both doors to fit perfect. Took several hours per door. Wish I had got the thin seals but too late. Can apply some black weatherstrip adhesive over the cut & ground sections to make them look smooth (don't close the door until it cures)

I had the same problem when I did mine. I read here to spray each down with WD-40 and let sit for a few days. I did it, and they are better than they were (they would barely even close) but they are still a little tough to shut. I also had to take a blade to the corner pieces. They fit better than they used to, but they still dont seem right. Ive had to re-adjust my doors, and boy what a project that turned out to be. I wont go into details, but what WAS my weather stripping, turned into my hinges, and then turned into my hinge mounts, and finally ended up being my door. Everything seemed to fit fine with my practically non-existant weather seal, and I guess the water getting in wasnt really THAT bad was it?
Just kidding.
Im almost fitting nicely.
P.S. If you adjust your doors, a helping hand will save you alot of time, and a sore back.
Keep on truckin' 55forder
